Hann Living Warranty
1. Introduction
Hann Living warrants its products against failure due to a manufacturing or structural defect for the period referred to in the table below (the Warranty Period), subject to these terms. This Warranty covers structural defects — such as failure of frames, joints, suspension, springs and mechanisms — arising from faulty materials or workmanship under normal domestic use.
These Warranty terms apply to products purchased for Personal Use, meaning use of a product in an owner-occupied or privately rented residence, where the product is used solely for the private enjoyment of the permanent occupant and is not used for furnishing commercial premises or any commercial guest accommodation. For products purchased for commercial use — including hotel and guest services, serviced apartments, short-stay rentals and property development furnishing — please contact us before purchase, as separate terms apply.
Hann Living reserves the right to change the terms of this Warranty at any time. If we make a change, we will continue to honour the terms of the Warranty that was in effect at the time you purchased a product covered by this Warranty.
2. Warranty Periods
| Product | Warranty Period from date of delivery |
|---|---|
| Sofas | 2 years |
| Dining chairs | 1 year |
| Armchairs | 1 year |
| Tables | 1 year |
| Stools | 1 year |
| Bedframes | 1 year |
| Mattresses | 1 year |
| Rugs, lighting and all other products | Not covered by warranty |
Each Warranty Period begins from the date of delivery of the product. Lightbulbs supplied with lighting products are not included in or covered by any warranty.
3. What Is Not Covered by the Warranty?
This Warranty does not apply:
- To damage to fabric or leather from wear and tear. Fabrics, leathers, suspension components, cushioning and fillings will show signs of wear with use — fabrics and leathers will fade and crease, and foam and fillings will soften and form to the shape of the user over time. This is normal and is not a defect. Depending on the covering and the degree of use, covering materials, cushion fillings and suspension may need to be replaced periodically at the purchaser's expense.
- To scars, marks and differing pore density and colour in leather — these are natural characteristics of leather and are not considered defects.
- To colour variations caused by exposure to the local environment, including but not limited to fabrics, leathers, timber veneer and solid timber.
- If the product was purchased for a purpose that is not Personal Use, including any commercial purpose, unless separate warranty terms were agreed with us in writing at the time of purchase.
- Where the product or its components have not been purchased directly from Hann Living, have had product tags removed, altered or defaced, or have been modified or changed without approval from Hann Living.
- To fabrics or materials supplied by you or outside suppliers. Fabrics and leathers supplied by an outside supplier may be covered by the supplier's own warranties.
- To products or components that become defective as a consequence of misuse, accidents, lack of proper care and maintenance, or handling in transit. You must use and maintain the products in accordance with our Product Care Advice. If a component becomes defective, do not attempt to repair it yourself — doing so may cause damage that is not covered by this Warranty.
- To freight, call-out fees, labour and other costs associated with making an invalid warranty claim. For valid claims, Hann Living will only be liable for costs that it has pre-approved in writing before you incur them.
This Warranty is solely for the benefit of, and applies only to, the original purchaser of the product. It cannot be assigned or transferred, and subsequent purchasers acquire the product as-is without the protection of the Warranty. Hann Living reserves the right to determine, at its discretion, whether a component has failed due to a defect or due to wear and tear.
4. How Do You Lodge a Warranty Claim?
Notify our customer service of any defect within 14 days of the defect occurring, using the contact details at the end of these terms. Please provide the following information:
- Your name;
- Order delivery address;
- Your phone number;
- Product details; and
- Details of the defect claimed.
Once we receive your notification, our team will help determine whether your warranty claim is valid and, if it is, will inform you how we will honour it. You may be required to provide photographic evidence of the defect, a written explanation, or details of the defect over the phone. Please respond to all requests promptly.
5. How Will a Valid Warranty Claim Be Honoured?
All warranty claims determined by our team to be valid will be honoured. To honour a valid claim, Hann Living will, at its option:
- Replace the product or supply an equivalent product (any replacement item becomes your property, and the replaced item becomes Hann Living's property); or
- Repair the product; or
- Pay the cost of replacing the product or acquiring an equivalent product; or
- Pay the cost of having the product repaired.
Components replaced under this Warranty may vary in colour and texture from the original — such variations are not considered a defect. Any repair or replacement under this Warranty is limited to the defective component only.
6. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, all other warranties implied or otherwise not set out in this Warranty are excluded. Hann Living will be under no liability in contract, tort (including, without limitation, negligence or breach of statutory duty) to otherwise compensate the party eligible to make a warranty claim for: any expenses incurred by the claimant or a third party; any loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts or anticipated savings; any loss or expense resulting from a claim by a third party; or any special, indirect or consequential losses or damages caused by Hann Living's failure to complete or delay in completing any of its obligations in this Warranty.
7. Limitations on Disclaimer
If the supply of the products to you is a consumer sale pursuant to Malaysian consumer law, the following statement applies. In the following statement, "our" means Hann Living and "you" means the purchaser:
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 1999. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
The benefits given by this Warranty are additional to other rights and remedies that you may have in relation to our products. Any paragraph of this Warranty which is unenforceable or void is to be severed, and the rest of this Warranty will remain in force.
